Venue & practical information

ICIP2014 will be hosted by the University of Neuchâtel. 

On the first day of the conference (Friday, November 21), all conferences, posters and presentations will take place at the Faculty of Law, situated at Avenue du 1er Mars 26, 2000 Neuchâtel (n°14 on the map below). The registration and information desk will be situated in the main hall.

On the second day of the conference (Saturday, November 22), all conferences, posters and presentations will take place at the Faculty of Arts, situated at Espace Louis-Agassiz 1, 2000 Neuchâtel (n°18 on the map below). The registration and information desk will be situated in the east wing hall.

The conference dinner on Friday 21 will take place at the Restaurant Beaulac, Esplanade Léopold-Robert 2, 2000 Neuchâtel. Here is how to get there from the Faculty of Law:

Lunch on Saturday 22 will take place at the Restaurant Romarin, Rue de la Maladière 62, 2000 Neuchâtel. Here is how to get there from the Faculty of Arts:

Neuchâtel is a charming town located in north-western French-speaking Switzerland, in a beautiful landscape of lake and mountains. It is the heartland of the celebrated Swiss watchmaking industry. The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is located on the lakeside.

Neuchâtel can be easily reached by train from Geneva, Zurich or Basel airport. There is a TGV train connection to Neuchatel from Paris.

From Geneva airport 

The easiest way to reach Neuchâtel from Geneva airport  is by train (1hr 20min). The station is located directly in the airport and a train leaves for Neuchâtel every hour. For schedules, please check directly on the SBB/CFF (Swiss national train company ) website.

From Zurich airport 

The easiest way to reach Neuchâtel from Zurich airport is by train (1hr 50min). The station is located directly in the airport and a train leaves for Neuchâtel every hour. For schedules, please check directly on the SBB/CFF (Swiss national train company ) website. We advise you not to take the train via Bern.

From Basel-Mulhouse airport 

Basel-Mulhouse EuroAirport is not linked directly to the railway system, but there are connections by public transport (shuttle bus, line 50, duration of ride 20 min) to Basel railway station, from which you can take a direct train to Neuchâtel (1hr 30min). By train 

Neuchâtel is easily reachable by train from anywhere in Europe. For more information and detailed schedules, please check the SBB/CFF (Swiss national train company ) website.

By car 

Coming by car to Neuchâtel is easy. The city is directly connected to the national highway network. To use the highway network, you will need to by a Swiss motorway sticker at the border (40 CHF).

There are different requirements for entry into Switzerland dependent on the country of origin, the purpose and the duration of stay. For EU/EFTA citizens there is no need of visa; for citizens from other countries, please refer to the information on the  Federal Office for Migration  or to a Swiss consulate in your country.

You can organize your accommodation directly via the website of the  Neuchâtel Tourist Office . We invite you to book your accomodation as soon as possible as the number of rooms at reasonable price is limited.
