My research mainly deals with geostatistics: development of new simulation methods and inverse problems in hydrogeology for uncertainty assessment. In particular, I focus on new Multiple-Point Statistics (MPS) algorithms. MPS allows to generate complex heterogeneous fields in a stochastic framework by integrating a conceptual model (training image). This is a crucial issue in geostatistical simulations because the spatial features of geological structures have a deep impact on the dynamic processes (flow / transport).
Impala and DeeSse are two Multiple-Point Statistics Softwares developed in the Stochastic Hydrogeology Group.
- Impala : written in C, serial version and parallel versions: OpenMP (for shared memory machines) / MPI (for distributed memory machines (HPC cluster))
- DeeSse : written in C, serial version and parallel versions: OpenMP (for shared memory machines) / CUDA (for shared memory machines equipped with GPUs)
