Objectives
To introduce doctoral students of all stages to cutting edge research and methodologies in current animal cognition studies.
Content
Students will be exposed to talks by, and participate in discussions with, leading scientists in animal cognition research which will cover both field and captive studies in a variety of taxa.
There will be three working discussion groups:
1) Mechanisms of cognition (including physical, social, and communicative)
2) Evolution of cognition (including evolution of brain size, general intelligence), and
3) Variation in cognition (including individual differences and ontology).

Travel expenses : participants of the Interuniversity doctoral program in organismal biology are eligible for reimbursement of incurred travel expenses by train (half-fare card, and 2nd class).

Please send the original train tickets (no copies, except for AG/GA) with the reimbursement form to Dr Christiane Bobillier. No reimbursement for bus, taxi or car travel expenses will be paid.

- This course is open to all (Ph.D. students, master students, post-docs, and senior researchers) with priority to PhD students until 20 February 2013.
- It is free for CUSO PhD and master students. All other participants have to pay a registration fee of CHF 10. to be paid at the registration desk.
