Financial support
The Social Office offers the following forms of financial support:
One-off subsidies
The Social Office allocates one-off subsidies to students in temporary financial difficulty. These may take into account costs associated with studies (such as registration fees, books and transport costs) and medical costs.
These subsidies, provided by social assistance funding, are available to students who have already completed one semester at the UniNE and are undertaking their first university degree.
Grants
The Social Office allocates grants which guarantee students in financial difficulty a basic standard of living. These may take into account rental costs, health insurance charges and money for food.
These grants, provided by social assistance funding, are available to students who have already completed one semester at the UniNE and are undertaking their first university degree.
Study exchange grants
Thanks to the Rosa Schlatter Fund, the Social Office allocates grants to students who have difficulty financing a study exchange trip.
These grants are available to students who have already acquired at least 60 ECTS credits as part of a Bachelor programme or 30 ECTS credits as part of a Master programme. No credits from a Master programme are required for students who completed their Bachelor degree at the UniNE.
Loans
The Social Office can allocate a repayable advance when a student facing temporary financial difficulties is likely to receive money to fund his or her studies in the near future (e.g. a student awaiting the payment of a cantonal grant).
For all requests for financial assistance, please contact Géraldine Renggli, the Head of Social Office.
