Several websites and portals offer centralised access to information concerning postdoctoral appointments in Europe or the United States.

EURAXESS, which includes a search engine for each country, is a good starting point for collecting information regarding entry formalities, research and everyday life in the country of destination. The portal also includes links to the United States, Japan and China.

For postdoctoral appointments in the United States, the website of the National Postdoctoral Association provides lots of information, in particular an International Postdoc Survival Guide. 

Most academic institutions provide information on their websites concerning the stay abroad.
