David Correia Saavedra
David Correia Saavedra holds a joint PhD in linguistics from the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland) and from the University of Antwerp (Belgium). He is mainly interested in computational and quantitative approaches to linguistics. His PhD proposes an approach to the measurement grammaticalization. Prior to his PhD, he studied at the University of Lausanne where he completed an M.A. in English (1st discipline) and in Computer Science and Mathematical Methods (2nd discipline). His mémoire de maîtrise was focused on English lexical blending and the use of automated methods to spot potentially new morphemes.
He is currently working as a post-doctoral researcher on the FNS project "Clipping in a cross-linguistic perspective".
