  • Know how to use EndNote or Mendeley for managing references and PDFs.

Content

Literature search and reference management are challenging tasks because (1) retrieval of all relevant papers is the aim, (2) looking through long result lists is time-consuming, (3) full-text access is needed, (4) many paper PDFs have to be organised. In this workshop, we discuss tools and techniques to overcome these challenges.

Every participant works on his or her research topic. Every participant has to bring a notebook computer with internet access. Please make sure to have EndNote or Mendeley on your notebook.

Post-course assignments:

After the course, every participant has to prepare an annotated bibliography with at least 30 entries (references). The bibliography should be relevant for the participant’s research activities. The deadline to send this bibliography to Philipp Mayer is 30 April 2021.
